Accommodations Our organization offers two options for housing. Volunteers may choose between living with an Ecuadorian host family or staying in a hostel. Host Family: If a volunteer wishes to have more security and comfort as well as a more cultural experience, the best option is to live with a host family. A host family offers three meals a day and also lives in a residential area, conveniently located near the bank and mall. By staying with a host family, volunteers will also be financially helping an Ecuadorian family for an inexpensive cost. Average Cost: $450.00 Hostel: If a volunteer wishes to live in a more touristic area, and meet and live with other foreigners, a hostel stay is most likely the best option. Hostels offer private and shared rooms, mini-kitchens where volunteers can prepare their own food, dining and living areas as well as shared bathrooms and a small patio. With the hostel stay, it is important to remember that volunteers will be responsible for their own meals and laundry however, there are many restaurants, bars, internet cafes, etc. located close to the hostel. Payment for this method is directly made to the hostel. Shared Room Cost: $240.00-$290.00 Private Room Cost: $300.00-$450.00
